HeyReach Alternative: Active Manager vs HeyReach (2026)

If you're looking for a HeyReach alternative, you probably fall into one of two groups: you manage LinkedIn outreach across many client accounts, or you're a founder or salesperson who liked HeyReach's approach but noticed that most of its pricing page speaks to agencies.

The short answer: HeyReach is built for agencies and teams running many LinkedIn accounts at once. For that job, it can be the better fit. Sender rotation, one inbox across accounts, free extra users and flat bundles that cost less per account are hard to beat.

Active Manager is built for founders and small sales teams who want LinkedIn and email from their own mailbox in one sequence. Its entry plan also costs less than HeyReach's. Below, we compare prices from both websites, work through the maths for real cases and explain where each tool wins.

HeyReach pricing vs Active Manager pricing

Both tools charge per LinkedIn account. HeyReach calls each account a sender, and its pricing page says teammates, VAs and clients can log in free. Active Manager charges per user, with one LinkedIn account each. Both quote prices in USD before tax.

What HeyReach costs

HeyReach Growth, for 1 to 9 senders, costs $79 per sender a month, $71 billed quarterly ($213 a quarter) or $63 billed yearly ($756 a year). HeyReach's plans article lists $59, $53 and $47 for 10 or more senders.

Growth includes unlimited campaigns, the unified inbox, API and webhooks, workspaces and permissions, and 100 enrichment credits per sender. Those credits are a one-time allocation rather than a monthly allowance. The top-up price isn't published.

For agencies, the Micro Agency plan bundles 25 senders for $999 a month, or $799 a month billed yearly ($9,590 a year). That works out at about $32 per sender. Agency and Unlimited require you to bring your own proxies.

What Active Manager costs

Active Manager's pricing lists two published plans. Pro costs $59 a month or $39 a month billed annually ($468 a year). Advanced costs $79 a month or $59 a month billed annually ($708 a year), adding A/B testing, advanced analytics, the unified inbox and webhooks. Scale includes team workspaces, HubSpot sync and the API, with pricing on request.

Pro and Advanced include 100 email-finder credits a month. Credits don't roll over, and you only use one when a verified email is found. Extra packs are monthly add-ons, starting at 1,000 credits for $29 a month.

Like for like

Because HeyReach Growth includes an inbox and webhooks, Active Manager Advanced is the fair comparison. Both cost $79 when paid monthly. Billed yearly, Advanced costs $59 against $63, saving you $48 a year. If you don't need the inbox, A/B tests or webhooks, Pro at $39 a month saves $288 a year against Growth. At 10 or more senders, HeyReach Growth drops to $47 a month billed yearly: less than Advanced ($59), but still more than Pro ($39).

Case (list prices, one year) HeyReach Active Manager Pro Active Manager Advanced
One founder, paid monthly $948 $708 $948
One founder, billed yearly $756 $468 $708
Three seats, billed yearly $2,268 $1,404 $2,124
25 accounts, billed yearly $9,590 (Micro Agency) $11,700 $17,700

Two caveats matter here. Active Manager's team workspaces and roles are on Scale, so its three-seat and 25-seat figures cover separate seats without team features. HeyReach Growth includes workspaces. The HeyReach figures also exclude email sending, which requires an Instantly, Smartlead or EmailBison subscription, priced on their own sites.

Free trials

HeyReach offers the longer trial: 14 days, no card, with up to 3 LinkedIn accounts. It doesn't automatically turn into a paid plan. Teams considering Agency or Unlimited can request 30 days.

Active Manager offers 7 days with Advanced features and no card. When the trial ends, your campaigns pause and nothing is charged. If you pay and then change your mind, your first payment is refundable within 14 days.

Email in the same sequence: why founders look for a HeyReach alternative

For many founders, writing the first message isn't the problem. It's the invite left unanswered for a week, followed by the email you meant to send but never did.

In Active Manager, email is a step in the same sequence as your LinkedIn actions. A simple version looks like this:

  1. View the profile, then send an invite with a short note.
  2. Wait 3 days. If connected, send a LinkedIn message.
  3. If not, find a verified work email.
  4. If email available, send an email from your own mailbox.
  5. When the lead replies on LinkedIn or by email, their sequence stops in every campaign.

Email goes out from your own connected mailbox over SMTP/IMAP (Gmail works with an app password), so replies arrive where you already read email. Active Manager tracks sent, replied and bounced emails. It doesn't track opens, and Outlook and Microsoft 365 sign-in aren't supported yet.

HeyReach takes a different approach. We didn't find native email sending in its docs. Its multichannel page describes email through native integrations with Instantly, Smartlead and EmailBison. The Find Email action passes leads with a found email to Instantly.

If you already run cold email in one of those tools, that approach can suit you well. If you don't, you'll need to set up a second subscription before sending your first email.

Safety: how each tool protects your LinkedIn account

On the entry plan, both tools give each LinkedIn account its own IP. HeyReach Growth assigns a dedicated static residential proxy to each account and never shares it between two accounts. On Agency and Unlimited, you bring your own proxies.

Active Manager gives every paid seat a dedicated residential IP in its country. The IP stays with the account for as long as it's connected and is never shared with another active account. You don't need to buy or manage a proxy.

Warm-up

Warm-up is the biggest practical difference. Active Manager warms up new accounts automatically, starting at about 20% of the limits you set (around 15 invites a day at a 75 limit) and rising week by week to the full limit around week 5.

HeyReach documents warm-up as a recommended manual schedule: 5 invites a day in week one, 10 in week two, then 15 to 20. Its help centre also says new accounts should first reach 100 connections by hand. We found no automatic warm-up in its docs, so you adjust the limits yourself each week.

Limits and pacing

HeyReach lets you set up to 40 invites a day, with 25 as both the default and the recommendation. Its weekly cap is 200 invites per sender, though an older article says about 100, so the docs disagree. It also provides working hours with random delays, plus "Cooldown mode" and "Locks" pauses.

In Active Manager, you choose a daily limit for each action, up to:

  • Invites: 75 a day on any LinkedIn account. Active Manager adds no weekly cap; LinkedIn's weekly invitation limit applies, typically around 100 invitations a week.
  • Messages: 100 a day on free LinkedIn, or 150 on Premium or Sales Navigator.
  • Profile views: 400 a day.

Daily numbers vary slightly from day to day. Actions run in short sessions at varied times within your working hours, with less activity at weekends. Active Manager pauses if LinkedIn shows a security check.

The same caveat applies to both tools: no automation software can promise that LinkedIn will never restrict an account. Avoid sending invites or outreach outside the tool, because LinkedIn counts all activity on the account.

Lead sources, sequences and A/B tests

Lead sources. Active Manager has 11 built-in sources, including event attendees, group members and people who viewed your profile. Its evergreen lists keep adding new matches. HeyReach imports from LinkedIn search, Sales Navigator searches, lists and accounts, post reactions and CSV. You can combine and exclude lists, while Clay, RB2B or HubSpot can feed leads in.

Sequence logic. HeyReach documents two conditions: "If connected" and an open-profile check for Sales Navigator, with a minimum 3-hour delay between actions. Active Manager has four conditions, including "If connected" and "If email available", with delays in days or hours. HeyReach also has a voice-note step, which Active Manager doesn't.

A/B tests. HeyReach supports variants of connection notes, messages and InMails. Variants are picked at random at each step, so one lead can receive A then B. The cap isn't stated. Active Manager allows up to 3 variants per message step on Advanced, with results shown for each variant.

Inbox. HeyReach's inbox covers every sender on Growth and lets you reply on behalf of colleagues. Active Manager's inbox, available on Advanced, shows replies from your leads alongside their campaign, tags and notes.

Where HeyReach is the better choice

  • You run many LinkedIn accounts. Sender rotation, one inbox across accounts, free users and client workspaces are central to HeyReach. The Agency plan adds white label and a master view, and 25 senders at $799 a month billed yearly beats per-seat pricing. Active Manager has no multi-account mode or white label.
  • You want integrations on the entry plan. HubSpot, the API, webhooks, an MCP server, Clay and n8n all come with Growth. Active Manager reserves HubSpot and the API for Scale. Neither tool lists native Salesforce or Pipedrive.
  • You want AI voice notes. HeyReach offers AI voice notes cloned from a short sample (in beta). Both tools label replies automatically: HeyReach tags them by sentiment, and Active Manager's reply classification sorts them into labels such as interested, not now, out of office or unsubscribe.
  • You want a longer trial, EU access or a track record. HeyReach offers 14 days, is available in the EU, and has a 4.1 rating on Trustpilot from 52 reviews. Active Manager is new, has no public reviews yet, and isn't available in the EU or EEA.

Where Active Manager is the better choice

  • You want LinkedIn and email in one sequence. Email steps go out from your own mailbox between LinkedIn steps, without a second cold-email tool. A reply on either channel stops the lead everywhere.
  • You're one person or a small team watching costs. One seat costs $39 a month on Pro or $59 on Advanced, billed annually, against $63 for HeyReach Growth.
  • You don't want to manage warm-up or proxies. A new account ramps up automatically, and every paid seat gets its own residential IP.
  • You need emails for most of your leads. You get 100 email-finder credits every month, up to 1,200 a year per seat, against HeyReach's one-time allocation of 100. Extra monthly packs have published prices.
  • Your leads come from events, groups or profile viewers. These sources are built in, and evergreen lists keep adding new people.

The verdict

If you run outreach for clients across dozens of LinkedIn accounts, HeyReach is likely the better choice. That's what it's built for, and its Agency bundles cost less per account than Active Manager's seats.

If you're a founder or part of a small sales team and want timely follow-ups on LinkedIn and by email from your own mailbox, Active Manager is the HeyReach alternative to try. Pro costs less than HeyReach Growth, Advanced costs the same or less, and you don't need a second tool for email.

The easiest way to decide is to build one real sequence. Active Manager's trial lasts 7 days with no card, and campaigns pause when it ends, so there are no surprise charges. For questions about accounts, limits or billing, see the FAQ.
